A little something for ya!

Here's a little somethin' somethin' for ya. Just a simple little design that you can do with as you like :)

Hot date!

Yesterday for our lunch date Ezra and I went to the Japanese Water Gardens at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens. We'd taken Ezra once before when he was around 9 months old but since the weather was insanely gorgeous yesterday I couldn't resist! Michael had a flight so we just planned a day outside. After we left the Water Gardens we went to the Trinity River Park playground. There were TONS of kids since everyone I guess had the same idea. Then off to Panera for some delicious lunch!

Ezra's crazy about ducks so he tried his hardest to pet a few...

Trying to kiss the fish...

Ezra made sure to inform me that there are no dolphis, seals, whales, or sharks in this water.

He also wanted to pet the fish. He didn't understand why he couldn't go swimming with them.

"Hiiiiii fishies!" -Ezra

On another note... the other morning after I got out of the shower I walked back into our bedroom and saw this...
Ezra had crawled into bed with Michael and all that you could see left of him was his leg :)

Cutie patootie freebie just for you!

I created this cute little pocket for you to use to your heart's content! I thought you could either cut out the empty pocket and create a little wall hanging organizer for your craft table, or just use them for scrapbooking, or decorating your blog :)

This one would be cute to add text to like: "I love crafting", or "I love scrapbooking."

Up in the air - AGAIN!

I hate being in this position... Michael found outlast week that his squadron will be closing down. That means that w/in the next year we have to pray he gets hired on with the other local squadron, or that Michael gets an airline job. If neither of these happen - we move. Period. New jobs, new house, new city or country or continent. I don't mind the adventure at all but what stinks about this the most is that we just got licensed to adopt domestically here. TWO days after we found out about the base closure we got an e-mail about a precious AA 2 year old boy available for immediate adoption. I thought PERFECT, he's meant to be ours b/c we're likely leaving w/in the next year so we can't really do foster to adopt and he's the perfect age, etc. Well CPS went ahead and placed him with another family today, likely b/c of our "unknown future job" status :(
I kept telling myself not to think about him in our lives but it's sooooooo hard not to imagine Ezra playing with his new brother, etc. So while I'm THRILLED that he has a home and will have security and a mom and dad of his own I am sad that it's not us.
So I officially removed our names from the "foster list" since our status as TX residents is up in the air but if by some miracle there's another child available for immediate placement then they'll call us.

Seriously... I'm in love!

I saw these "popcorn" cupcakes on and HAD to share them with you guys. For a more detailed description on how to assemble them click over to her blog but they are pretty straight forward.

Step One.

Step Two.

Step Three.

Step Four. Mix some water and yellow food coloring and paint onto the marshmallows.

Step Five. Cut wrappers tall enough to just cover the cupcake liners.

I saw this post on Ellie's super girl birthday party at and I have fallen in love with these 2 party ideas. Don't you just adore the little flag banner on the cake as opposed to candles!

And these hand illustrated invites are precious and such a simple idea! So easy to make with a scanner and photoshop!

Isn't this little super girl mask the cutest!

Saw these AMAZING looking cookies on YUMMMMM!

1 cup butter
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter toffee peanuts
1 cup peanut butter
ABOUT 3/4 cup mini marshmallows

Grease or line two baking sheets with parchment; put to the side.
Heat oven to 350 degrees F.

Grate cold butter into sugar. This makes it easier to incorporate, just use a cheese grater! Works well for pie crusts too by the way. Cream together butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla.
Sift flour and blend with soda and salt; stir in with wet ingredients.

Mix in peanuts and peanut butter.

Using a cookie or ice cream scoop, scoop the dough and release onto your prepared baking sheet, leaving at least 2 inches between cookies.

Push a few marshmallows into the top of each cookie, shaping the dough around them so the dough almost covers the marshmallows.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown on the edges (if you make your cookies smaller, it may be more like 8-10 minutes).

Free Vintage Valentine's Day printables

Ezra and I took a trip to our local Antique Mall today and I found these adorable old Valentines day cards that would make fantastic printables! I loved that 2 of them are 3 dimensional with just the addition of a grommet or brad.

Just cut out the scissor handle below and use a brad to attach it back to the bakground image.

I think the inside of this one said something like, "I picture us together" or something like that but it wasn't legible so I didn't bother to include it. Just print out the image and cut it out then add your own text to personalize it inside!

I unfortunately didn't save the image of this card all put together but you can see the holes where the brad goes. I thought the little plane was precious! You can also use it seperately for other projects.

I live with a clown...

Everyday Ezra does something to crack me up but yesterday was a doozy. First he started off the day playing outside and then I can hear this metallic scrapping noise so I go into the living room and Ezra is dragging our turkey frying pot into the house. He then proceeds to look for Oscar the Grouch in his "trashcan".

We then go and play in his room while I'm making his bed and I turn around and see this face...

Then last night Ezra and I were watching a movie and eating grapes and he turns to me and smiles. I didn't see the grapes at first but then one fell out and he put it back in his ear and said, "like Daddy"! I promptly called Michael who was on an overnight flight and asked him, "Have you been putting grapes in your ears?" To which he replied that he in fact had not and "why are you asking me that?" So I told him about Ezra's grape in the ears trick and we got a good giggle out of that one.

Fun Valentines Day card craft

I saw this DIY craft on and fell head over heels. I immediately went to and ordered a roll of contact paper and can't wait to make some of these with Ezra for his teachers and our family :)

Step one: Draw a love heart on your red card and write a message to someone you like inside the heart. Repeat if required.
Step two: Cut out your hearts and cover them with clear contact paper. Cut off the excess contact paper from around the edges of the heart.
Step three: Mix one part dishwashing liquid to two parts gold paint. Paint over the inside of your heart using light strokes. Allow to dry and reapply a second coat, if required to cover your message.
Step four: When your heart is completely dry, place in an envelope. The person you love will be able to scratch off the gold paint using a coin or fingernail to reveal the message underneath.

Chicken Love?

This weekend we went to the Fort Worth Stock Show. While we were in Orlando my mom had taken Ezra and he went crazy over the chickens! We couldn't wait to see his responce for ourselves. Ezra just LOVES animals (and bugs). I often have to stop him from picking up every spider he sees -- "Wanna pet it" is a common refrain.

The object of his affection.

Trying to kiss a pig through chain link isn't so easy :)

Introductions: Woody... Cow. Cow... Woody.

I have no idea what he's thinking here...

Ghost sheep.

Ezra's sheep immitation...
